Apparently Sixto wants to be Mayor.

Stop by the Old Miami to sign a petition to get him on the ballot if you are a registered Detroit voter.

Maybe he’s perfect guy while the EFM is running things or maybe this is batshit crazy

The southwest Detroit neighborhood of Oakwood Heights is disappearing quickly, as the houses are bought out and demolished by Marathon Oil, which has a refinery next door. One resident said that about one house a day was being torn down.

This morning Detroit Mayor Dave Bing announced that the vacant Brewster-Douglass housing project is scheduled to be demolished next summer. “The former Brewster-Douglass complex has a proud place in Detroit’s rich history, as the nation’s first federal housing project for African-Americans; as the place where Joe Louis learned to box; and where Diana Ross, Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard formed the Supremes, however, as a vacant site, it became a major eyesore and a danger to the community. We welcome the chance to make it a productive residential and commercial area once again,” the Mayor told a group of reporters.
